The ZORBAS Group received the Honorary Award “Contribution to Gastronomy 2025” at the Cyprus Eating Awards 2025, a long-standing institution that for over 21 years has recognised excellence and lasting contribution in the fields of gastronomy and food service in Cyprus.
This distinction acknowledges the Group’s 50-year journey, which began in 1975 in Athienou, Larnaca, with a family bakery and the passion of Andreas Zorbas. From these beginnings emerged a story closely connected to taste, quality, and everyday life in Cyprus – a story that has evolved while remaining true to its authenticity and tradition.
With the transition to the second generation, the family business developed into a modern, multi-dimensional organisation, expanding its product range and its presence across Cyprus. From bakery and confectionery to food service, coffee, and food retail, the ZORBAS Group has grown steadily while maintaining its core values: quality, consistency, and respect for people.
Today, the Group operates over 100 points of sale, runs three modern production facilities, maintains a presence in the United States of America, and manages brands covering the full spectrum of the gastronomic experience. With a workforce of more than 3,700 employees, the Group continues to invest in its people, innovation, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
The Honorary Commendation “Contribution to Gastronomy 2025” reaffirms the ZORBAS Group’s enduring role as a benchmark in Cypriot food service. Fifty years after the first Athienou bread, the Group continues to combine tradition with vision, taste with innovation, and growth with sustainability, creating a story that stands the test of time and deserves recognition.
